What Safety and Security Sensors Are Featured on a Speedlane Security Gate?

An overview of the safety and security measures designed to ensure the safe and secure use of a Speedlane security gate.

An automatic access gate is a highly secure entry solution designed to comply with the strictest safety standards. Its advanced safety features enable the gate to respond seamlessly to users and objects, ensuring a safe and secure passage for all.

This page provides a detailed overview of the sensors in the following models:

Safety System

Description

Security Sensors

The security sensors monitor and detect a person's position within the security gate.

Safety Sensors

The safety sensors ensure that the door panels do not come into contact with a person.

Climb-over Detection Sensors

The climb-over detection sensors detect any attempt to climb over the security gate, ensuring enhanced security.

Safety+

The Safety+ sensors are additional safety sensors designed to detect persons or objects smaller than 1 metre.

Tailgate+

The Tailgate+ sensors are additional security sensors designed to enhance the accuracy of tailgating detection.

Block Detection

If a person or object becomes trapped between the door panels or between a door panel and the cabinet, the door panel will immediately stop and reverse direction. All access authorisations are cancelled, and this procedure must be completed before the machine can resume operation.

Tamper Switches

The tamper switches send a signal if the cover is removed, triggering an alarm on the machine.

Mechanical Safety System of the Access Gate

If a person or object becomes trapped between the doors, the doors will immediately stop and reopen. This action is mandatory and must be completed before the security gate can resume operation.

Power Failure (Fail-Safe)

In the event of a power outage, the gate remains operational for approximately 15 minutes. After this time, the Speedlane executes one of the following actions:

  • The door panels close but can be manually opened if needed.
  • The doors automatically open to ensure accessibility.

Power Failure (Fail-Secure)

In the event of a power outage, the gate remains functional for approximately 15 minutes. After this period, the door panels close and lock securely to maintain security.

Fire Alarm

In the event of a fire alarm, the doors will automatically open.

This functionality is only available when the machine is connected to an external fire alarm system.

Safety System

Description

Safety and Security Sensors

The safety and security sensors actively detect and track the position of a person within the security gate.

Mechanical Safety System of the Door Panel

If a person or object becomes trapped between the doors and the housing, the door panel will instantly stop and reopen. This safety measure must be completed before the Speedlane can return to normal operation.

Power Failure (Fail-Safe)

In the event of a power outage the door panels can be manually opened.

Fire Alarm

The door panels will automatically open in the event of a fire alarm.

If a fire alarm occurs while the access gate is in malfunction mode, the door panels can be manually opened.

The fire alarm system operates only when the machine is connected to an external fire alarm system.

Please note, if the machine is experiencing a malfunction, the fire alarm system may not function properly.
